Mobile ATC Systems are pleased to share that we are sending another tower into the wild.

This one, leaving our friend’s premises at NEAT last night, is a 3 storey Modular tower destined for the Middle East where it is being installed by our Partner Communications Electronics.

It is equipped with a Jotron communications package, including VHF, UHF Transceivers, redundant recorders, and a 3 position VCS. Also included is a Planevision ADS-B system for situational awareness, a TC Communications crash phone communications bridge with two remote alarm sounder/telephone units, dual Meinberg NTP Time Servers, and a 5kVA UPS.

The Modular tower is proving to be a highly successful product as not only can it be used as a long-term solution, but it provides a truly transportable, relocatable tower for locations that need a medium to short term temporary solution where the full rapid mobility offered by our Mobile ATC Trailers is not required.

We are already on to the next one and another 5th Wheel Trailer is close to completion.

East Midlands Chamber of Commerce Business Awards

Mobile Air Traffic Control Systems Ltd is proud to have been selected as one of four finalists in the 2021 Excellence in International Trade category of the annual East Midlands Chamber of Commerce Business Awards for the Nottinghamshire area.

Sponsored by DHL this award recognises the strength of local businesses which trade internationally. Entrants must demonstrate how their objectives and strategies have generated significant and/or sustained increases in their international activity. As a small company being selected for the final in a county full of great companies makes us feel like a winner already, and we would like to thank all of our suppliers for their support over the last few years. We would also like to offer our congratulations to the other finalists and wish them luck in the last stage of the competition.

Mobile ATC Systems was pleased to be able to deliver a set of the FEC Heliports Equipment Mil-Star portable landing lights to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) team.

The rechargeable battery-powered LED helipad lighting system is designed for rapid deployment and will be used at one of the regular YAA landing sites to provide increased helipad visibility on the approach.

Designed to be switched on by the pilot from up to 10 miles away these lights add safe and effective marking at designated or ad-hoc landing lights.

For more information on the MIL-Star or HEMS-Star helipad landing system please contact us.

Completed Modular ATC Tower

Mobile ATC Systems is pleased to announce that our latest modular ATC tower successfully passed Factory Acceptance Test and was signed off for shipping by our customer. The 8.5m, three-story tower consists of our standard 6-meter (20 ft) VCR mounted on two converted hi-cube containers one of which is converted into air-conditioned office accommodation for the airport staff.

The lowest container provides access points for tower communications and power, as well as transportation storage for the access stairs and installation materials.

Simply equipped with a single operating position for Air Traffic Control, the tower is supplied with a Jotron suite including a pair of VHF transceivers. A JRRC Radio Remote Control, a single Ricochet recorder for ATC Communications, a Planevision ADS-B receiver and display as well as a Wharton GPS Timeserver and clocks. The Fire Officer position is equipped with a TC Communications Crash Telephone bridge supported by remote communications and sounders for the emergency services.

The Modular design of this tower is ideal for medium to long-term deployments for airports but is also transportable as it can be moved by flatbed vehicles for regular deployments if required. If mobility and deployment speed is not an important requirement then this type of solution may be more cost-effective than the MATC fully mobile elevating trailer solution which can be deployed in under 2 hours.

Compact Trailer for Mediterranean Country

Reading Time: 3 Minutes

The Compact Tow Bar Trailer that MATC mentioned in previous news was completed as a demonstrator in November but following negotiations, we can now confirm that it has been sold and is in transit to sunnier climates to support temporary operations at a new airport.

The tower was equipped with a two-position VCS, four channels of transceivers, a 16-channel voice recorder, a GPS Timeserver, a crash telephone system with a remote communications panel and sounders, and a tripod-mounted compact meteorology system providing basic ICAO compliant weather information to a console-mounted display.

Shown below in its elevated position during filming of a deployment video the compact tower provides a very cost-effective way to provide a temporary ATC solution whilst the development or upgrade of a permanent solution is carried out.

We are very pleased to be able to add it to our range of products as a solution for those customers that do not require full-sized units.
