Trailer and Container Based Hospital Units
The MATC Trailer and Container Hospital Units are designed to provide a modular approach to building a self-contained field hospital that can be either 5th Wheel Trailer based units or purpose-built containers designed for transport by any large commercial haulage trailer. The units are designed to be linked together using bridging pods and can be equipped for major surgical practice with options for Operating Theatres, X-Ray and Ultrasound units, Outpatient Treatment, and Wards. Designed with hydraulically expanding “Pods” for increased room, but retaining standard vehicle dimensions in transit, the system allows the hospital to be as small or as large as the situation dictates.
Each trailer can be equipped for various medical purposes and then linked together using bridging walkways. If more space is required additional trailers, containers or even tented units can be added.
The container-based solution is also designed to link together its units to provide extensive medical facilities that provide the customer flexibility to deploy the right solution for any given scenario.
Various types, and standards of medical equipment can be supplied. This applies to the clinical medical devices, the on-board air handling solutions, and patient furnishings.

FAQ's
In the event that a hospital was nearing capacity or facilities needed to be closed for renovation a mobile Hospital could be positioned to provide care for patients that would otherwise have to travel to another hospital, or possible another city. They could also be positioned close to refugee camps to provide medical facilities to those that are desperate for help.
This depends on what kind of transport is widely used in country. If 5th wheel articulated prime movers are readily available, then the trailer may be the most suitable as only the truck is required. However, in locations where transport is varied, and only towed trailers or flatbed trucks are common the containers may be more suitable. The containers can be equipped with hydraulic legs to eliminate the need for cranes.
MATC can provide an extensive range of vehicles to provide support to the modular hospitals. This can include shower and toilet blocks, laundry, kitchens, and workshops as well as power and water trailers. We can work with the customer to design and manufacture whatever facility is required.
