After a surprise around Africa “cruise” visiting Sri Lanka and Oman and a lengthy “road trip” our latest modular ATC tower has been delivered to the Middle East for installation as a fallback tower at a major new airport. MATC supplied the ATIS system, and UPS/STS for the project but it will be erected and fitted out with an extensive ATM suite by our local partners before entering service in the near future.

MATC has recently completed a month-long installation of an Air Traffic Control Communications, ADS-B, and Meteorology System into a fixed tower in a Middle Eastern country. The tower is a brand-new build recently commissioned for the customer and MATC provided a Jotron Communications system including VCS Controller Working Positions for Radio and Telephony control, VHF and UHF Transceivers and a redundant Ricochet Recorder system. An ADS-B was supplied by Becker-Aero, and a compact Meteorology System provided by Biral. UPS power in the VCR and equipment room was supplied by Dale Power, and the VCR Consoles by ThinkingSpace. The installation was into a bare tower and included all network and control cabling, as well as the RF feeders and Antennas.

MATC has been awarded another contract for a Modular tower to be used as a fallback facility for a civilian airport in a Middle Eastern Country. This project will include an Air-Conditioned Radio Room suitable for 6 fully loaded 42U Equipment racks, including a 10kVA UPS, a Muir Matheson Aviation ATIS system from MATC, as well as equipment racks to be installed by our customer for Radios, VCS and ATM systems. The central cabin has been built as a crew room with a kitchenette and washroom facilities. The VCR will be fully populated with 3 working positions to replicate the working capabilities of the main tower.
